Kei Williams, Black Lives Matter @ Progressive Hack Night
An evening with the heart of the New York City Black Lives Matter Movement
On August 15th, Kei Williams, a queer transmasculine identified community organizer, joined us to talk about their work in #BlackLivesMatter NYC. A self-taught visual artist & graphic designer, they assist small businesses and nonprofit organizations with communications, marketing, and social media. Kei centers their work on those most marginalized in society: transgender persons and those who suffer from mental illness. Kei talked about their work and story fighting for black lives, where they are now, and how technologists can support and amplify their efforts in the movement for black lives.
